Peterson Hospice offers Bridging the Gap
( Support for children and families who have lost someone in their life)

Bridging the Gap is a free grievance program that provides emotional support to children and parents/guardians who have experienced a death of someone significant in their life. The 10 week program gives children the outlet and tools they need to express their grief while helping parents/guardians understand how to emotionally support the family through the loss.

Small group sessions are held for children, ages 5-18, and adults every other Tuesday from October-February. Each group is facilitated by a trained volunteer. Bridging the Gap is an opportunity for children to experience unconditional love and caring while participating in creative activities that stimulate discussion about the grieving process. Adult participation is encouraged. Adult sessions are geared to help parents/guardians understand how to emotionally support the family through the loss.

For more information, contact Peterson Hospice, 1121 Broadway, Kerrville, TX 78028, (830) 258-7799 or email them at bridgingthegap@petersonrmc.com

    First United Methodist Church
    FOOD 4 KIDS PROGRAM
(Food for the Weekend for Children)

We are so blessed to be a part of this community, and want to be able to return that blessing. Our schools do a wonderful job of feeding our children when they are at school, but sometimes there is not enough food at home for children over the weekends.

Our church has developed a ministry to distribute food for children to take home over the weekend. The food will be nutritious and easy for a child to prepare. We want to be sure this program treats your family with respect and privacy. If you are interested in enrolling your child in this program, please contact the school nurse, Merri Jean Seibel. She has forms and helps to coordinate this program.

If you are interested in helping the church with this program, please contact Merri Jean as well. Thank you for helping your child succeed in school, we want to walk on that journey with you.

    Thank you,
    Kerrville First United Methodist Church
