Dear Parents,                                                                                

Welcome to Third Grade, in room 121 at Starkey Elementary! My name is Mrs. Alita Davis and I will be your child’s 3rd grade bilingual teacher. I am truly excited and honored that you have entrusted me with your child’s educational achievements for the next 10 months. It is a privilege that will not be taken lightly. Together, we will learn and grow while never forgetting to have fun. 

Before we get to the rules and goals for this year, I would like to let you know a little bit about myself.  This is my 18^th year teaching and 9^th year at Starkey Elementary and I love it! I graduated from University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Sociology specializing in Business.  In 2004, I attended Region 13 in Austin to obtain my teaching certificate. In May 2020, I graduated from Schreiner University with a Master's in Educational Leadership.  I am currently working on my Doctorate in Educational Leadership from ACU.

Reading at Home: Please ensure that your child gets at LEAST 15 minutes of reading per day, as this is part of their daily homework.

Spelling Packet: Students receive a spelling packet with a reading passage each week, with the homework due on Friday. Each Friday, we will take a Spelling Test over the words throughout the week.

Math Homework: Students receive math homework on Monday due Wednesday and Wednesday due Friday.

My conference time is between 10:05 and 10:55 on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. This is the time when we can Zoom or call during the day.

İBienvenidos a Tecero grado en Starkey Elementary! Mi nombre es Mrs. Alita Davis y soy la maestra bilingüe de su hijo/a. Estoy muy feliz de que me hayan dado el honor de educar a su hijo/a por los próximos 10 meses. ¡Aprenderemos y creceremos juntos sin olvidar divertirnos en el transcurso!

Este es mi 18 años como maestra y el 9 año en Starkey.  Permítanse hablarles un poco sobre mí.  Me recibí de la Universidad de Texas en Austin con título en Sociología. En 2014, asistí a la Región en Austin para obtener mi certificación docente. En mayo de 2020, me gradué de la Universidad Schreiner con una Maestría en Liderazgo Educativo. Actualmente, estoy trabajando en mi Doctorado en Liderazgo Educativo de ACU.

Lectura en casa: asegúrese de que su hijo lea al menos 15 minutos por día, ya que esto es parte de su tarea diaria.

Paquete de Ortografía: Los estudiantes reciben un paquete de ortografía con un pasaje de lectura cada semana, con la tarea para el viernes. Cada viernes, tomaremos una prueba de ortografía sobre las palabras a lo largo de la semana.

Tarea de Matemáticas: Los estudiantes reciben tareas de matemáticas el lunes para el miércoles y el miércoles para el viernes.

 Mi hora disponible para losconferencias es entre 10:05 y 10:55 lunes, martes y jueves. Este es el momento en el que podemos hacer zoom o llamar durante el día.
