Howdy!  I am excited about being in my 23rd year of teaching!  I am thrilled to be a part of the caring Starkey family who love their students and each other.  I spent the summer learning about Take Flight dyslexia therapy.  I am so excited to implement this program for our dyslexia students at Starkey Elementary!

My husband, Craig, is a 4th grade science and social studies teacher.  We have one son, Collin, who graduated from Texas Tech University in May 2020 and is doing what he loves with Texas A&M Forest Service in Fredericksburg.  Our daughter-in-law, Sydney, graduated from Texas Tech in 2021 and is pursuing her alternative certification in elementary education.  We all enjoy hunting, fishing, and hiking.  Most of all, we enjoy spending time at home with our three dogs.  My family means the world to me, and I like creating that kind of atmosphere in my classroom - one of mutual respect, a feeling of safety, and a lot of love!

Our motto this year is "Don't Stop Until You're Proud", which is very fitting for students and teachers at Starkey Elementary.  We continue to learn no matter our age and do our best every day!
