Hello!
My name is Sandra Flores and I am the Challenge Lab Teacher. I'm starting my 19th year of teaching. I've had the privilege of teaching in 5 different school districts in Texas, Florida, and Virginia. Those experiences have shaped me into the teacher I am today and for that I am grateful. I have taught kindergarten, 2nd, 5th, 6th, and ESOL grades 1-5. This will be my second year in the Challenge Lab.
I am thrilled to be starting my second year in the Challenge Lab. I look forward to challenging study groups and having them think outside the box. I am particularly excited about STEM Thursdays. I will incorporate hands-on activities and technology that will foster student engagement while having FUN!. Students will continue to visit the 21st century room where students will have even more opportunities to experience STEM.
I also coach 5th grade Robotics, where students meet every Wednesday and complete missions, create an innovative project, and compete in the First Lego competition in February.
My husband and I have been married for 18 years, and is now retired after a career in law enforcement with Homeland Security. We are Blessed to live on our ranchette outside Harper. It had been a dream of ours to live and work in the Hill Country. We also enjoy traveling in our RV and experiencing new adventures every chance we get.
