Hello! I am Sarah Mejia and I teach Kindergarten at Nimitz Elementary! I have been here at Nimitz for 15 years and was a preschool teacher at Head Start before that. I graduated from Tivy High School in 1997 and from UTSA in 2001. I began my teaching career here in KISD in 2002. I love teaching and learning new things. I also have a passion for rescuing and raising animals, as well as gardening. I am a member of the First Presbyterian Church and enjoy helping with their Childrens Ministry team, as well as VBS. I am married and have two great kids. My son is attending Angelo State University and my daugter is a Freshman at Tivy High school. I believe in teaching and nurturing the whole child. I believe in building positive relationships and fostering a variety of learning types. I thrive on the "dysfunction" that comes with kindergarten and genuinely love navigating toward the functional.
