Mrs. Sandra Flores

My name is Sandra Flores and I am the Challenge Lab Teacher. I'm starting my 18th year of teaching. I've had the privilege of teaching in 5 different school districts in Texas, Florida, and Virginia. Those experiences have shaped me into the teacher I am today and for that I am grateful. I have taught kindergarten, 2nd, 5th, 6th, and ESOL grades 1-5. This will be my first year in the challenge lab.

I am excited to bring my experience into this new role. I look forward to challenging study groups and having them think outside the box. I am particularly excited about STEM Thursdays. I will incorporate hands-on activities and technology that will foster student engagement while having FUN!. This year, students will be able to visit the 21st century room where students will have even more opportunities to experience STEM.

I also coach 5th grade Robotics, where students meet every Wednesday and complete missions, create an innovative project, and compete in the First Lego competition in February.

My family consists of my husband of 17 years, who is now retired after a career in law enforcement with Homeland Security, our beagle Daisy Mae, goats, miniature donkeys, and cats. We are Blessed to live on our ranch outside Harper. We also enjoy traveling in our RV and experiencing new adventures. It had been a dream of ours to live and work in the Hill Country.
