    The Curriculum and Instruction Department oversees several areas of teaching and learning in the district, including Special Education, Federal Programs, Testing and Data Assessment, Instructional Coaching, CTE/CCMR, Teacher Incentive Allotment, RSSP, New Teacher Mentoring, Instructional Materials, and other initiatives as adopted by district leadership and/or required by the TEA.

  • Kerrville ISD Science and Career Technical Education Adoption – Community Preview

    The State Board of Education (SBOE) issued Proclamation 2024 at its April 2022 meeting to call for science, grades K–12 instructional materials and some Career Technology Education (CTE) courses. The instructional materials underwent a Quality Review Process through the Texas Resource Review (TRR) at the state level. For more information about TRR, please visit https://texasresourcereview.org/. The TRR was created by and for Texas educators to provide quality reviews that are independent, objective, comprehensive, and Texas focused. Based on this review, the SBOE published the list of materials available for adoption. The KISD Instructional Materials Committee which consists of KISD’s highly qualified teachers from every campus spent the 2023-2024 school year previewing materials for adoption from the SBOE list and will recommend the materials listed below for approval from the KISD Board of Trustees on May 20, 2024.

    All adopted materials will go into classrooms in the 2024–25 school year.

    Parents and community members are invited to preview the materials on the Instructional Materials Committee recommendation on May 15, 2024 through May 17, 2024. Links and login information for sample materials are listed below.     Adopción de Ciencia y Educación Técnica Profesional de Kerrville ISD - Vista Previa para la Comunidad

    La Junta de Educación del Estado (SBOE) emitió la Proclamación 2024 en su reunión de abril de 2022 para solicitar materiales didácticos de ciencias, grados K-12 y algunos cursos de Educación en Tecnología Profesional (CTE). Los materiales didácticos fueron sometidos a un Proceso de Revisión de Calidad a través de la Revisión de Recursos de Texas (TRR) a nivel estatal. Para obtener más información sobre TRR, por favor visite https://texasresourcereview.org/. El TRR fue creado por y para educadores de Texas para proporcionar revisiones de calidad que son independientes, objetivas, exhaustivas y enfocadas en Texas. Basándose en esta revisión, la SBOE publicó la lista de materiales disponibles para su adopción. El Comité de Materiales Didácticos de KISD, que consta de maestros altamente calificados de cada campus de KISD, pasó el año escolar 2023-2024 haciendo una vista previa de los materiales para su adopción de la lista de la SBOE y recomendará los materiales enumerados a continuación para su aprobación por parte de la Junta de Síndicos de KISD el 20 de mayo de 2024.
